Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Microcapsule based self-healing in concrete

چکیده
Self-healing technologies provide the long-term resilience of concrete structures by enabling self-diagnose and self-repair damages (aging cracks, cyclic load damages, corrosion-induced cracks). However, self-healing require special additives materials in addition to ones conventional concrete. Hence, it is often perceived have higher environmental impacts, therefore, necessary understand same. This study aimed analyse life cycle assessment (LCA) with microcapsules produced different techniques investigate sustainability these concretes. Two microcapsule techniques, namely complex coacervation membrane emulsification, were studied at laboratory scale then projected industrial scale. The analysis shows that does not adversely impact emissions production stage if supplementary cementitious are used. Further, beneficial effects considered use phase, impacts much lower. Thus, this gives meaningful insights identifying major helps improve their design application

Food packaging is used to maintain the safety and quality of food during distribution and storage and to protect them from adverse internal and external conditions, such as water vapor, spoilage due to microorganisms, moisture, light, and dust. In this regard, lots of research studies have been done to increase shelf life, safety, and quality to create suitable physico...
متن کاملSustainability Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Of Household Food Waste Management in Urban Areas
Background: Food waste is a very serious problem, it is proven that Indonesia is the second largest producer of food waste in the world. A limited waste management system will result in a decrease in environmental quality such as air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution. So far, the waste management system is only limited to reducing waste generation. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a ...
متن کاملProposal of Environmental Impact Assessment Method for Concrete in South Korea: An Application in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)
This study aims to develop a system for assessing the impact of the substances discharged from concrete production process on six environmental impact categories, i.e., global warming (GWP), acidification (AP), eutrophication (EP), abiotic depletion (ADP), ozone depletion (ODP), and photochemical oxidant creation (POCP), using the life a cycle assessment (LCA) method. To achieve this, this stud...
متن کاملLife Cycle Assessment of Completely Recyclable Concrete
Since the construction sector uses 50% of the Earth's raw materials and produces 50% of its waste, the development of more durable and sustainable building materials is crucial. Today, Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) is mainly used in low level applications, namely as unbound material for foundations, e.g., in road construction. Mineral demolition waste can be recycled as crushed aggreg...
